The NCS8626 is a high-performance low power Type-C/DP1.4 to VGA converter, designed to connect a USB Type-C source or a DP1.4 source to a VGA sink.

The NCS8626 integrates a DP1.4 compliant receiver, and a high-speed triple-channel video DAC. Also, CC controllers are included for CC communication to implement DP Alt Mode and power delivery function. This switch also handles multiplexing between 2-ch data and 2-ch video.  The VGA interface can support up to WUXGA (1920*1200@RB) @ 60Hz. The device supports 2-channel LPCM or compressed audio at maximum 192kHz sample rate.

NCS8626 also provides digital audio output interfaces: I2S, SPDIF and Analog audio. The device is capable of automatic operation which is enabled by an integrated microprocessor that uses an embedded SPI flash for firmware storage. System control is also available through the use of a dedicated configuration I2C slave interface. The NCS8626 is a highly integrated single chip suitable for multiple market segments and display applications, such as the dongle, docking station, monitor, television (TV), projector, signage, stream box etc.
